The Awakening

A Fundamental Necessity for High Self-Esteem, Self-Confidence and Spiritual Growth

What would it feel like to know, with certainty, that you could always trust your intuition and make rapid decisions, with clarity and sureness?

Have you been searching for a deeper belief in faith—an unshakable faith?

What would it mean to you?

If you’re like most of us, we can sometimes make quick and certain decisions, and other times, we vacillate and waffle back and forth. And it is the same for our faith. It’s there sometimes, and other times, it feels like it has evaporated. So how do we come to a place of certainty, in faith and in trust in our intuition?

Is This Something You Can Relate To?

Sometimes, the Universe will test us. I had a recent experience like this. Perhaps you can relate.

I was at an event in which I had to pay out a refundable amount of money to reserve my spot. The deal was that I’d get the money back at the door when I showed up.

When I showed up at the door, I was handed a sealed envelope that had my refund check in it, just as promised. In the rush to get inside and get  a good seat, I stuck the envelope away without even opening it.

Later, I opened the envelope to check and make sure everything was correct. And what I found was not one, but two checks. They had made a mistake. They had overpaid me.

For a brief time—and I’m not proud of this, but I’ll be honest here—the temptation was there to just not say anything, to keep and cash the checks; both of them. My mind was awhirl with all kinds of excuses and justifications!

a) They can afford it; I need it.

b) They might not even notice the mistake.

c) I can put this extra money to good use in my business.

d) I can “pretend” I never looked inside the envelope, that I just gave it to my daughter to deposit, and she was unaware of what the correct amount was supposed to be, so she just deposited the checks into my account.

Crazy, isn’t it?  What convoluted excuses and justifications the mind can come up with when it wants to?

But there’s a problem with that. I started having this mosquito buzzing and whining around in my ear.

You Can’t Have It Both Ways

Here’s the thing with that nagging mosquito that refuses to go away; I realized, you can’t have it both ways. You can’t say (and feel) that “everything has deep meaning now because I’m a spiritual person” and then brush aside this “lesson” that the Universe is presenting.

So I started asking myself, “What if you could have the courage and the confidence to absolutely know, fearlessly, unshakably, that you can totally create the phenomenal business success that you want, and have complete trust that you can do it? What would that be worth to you? How much would you pay to achieve that feeling of trust in yourself, of confidence, of just jumping out there to take a risk?

Would it be worth the amount on that extra check? (I said YES, IN A HEARTBEAT!)

The money I knew I needed to give back was not for the people putting on the event, or anyone else but me. It was about “How can you claim that ‘everything has deep meaning’ and then deny this extremely important message?”

A Test of Character

I felt that this was a huge test that Source was putting before me, and here was my opportunity to live or die by my words and deeds.

I started to ask myself, “Do you really want to be able to trust in yourself, in your Intuition, in your Higher Self, or do you want to continue on playing games with yourself and pretending that you don’t notice the incongruities?

Because you can’t lie to the Subconscious Mind.

This is something I had deeply ingrained in me when I attended hypnotherapy school.

Your subconscious mind will hold you accountable, to keep your word, to honor your Self, to be real. You cannot have self esteem (and with high self esteem comes confidence, which directly leads to trust in your inner guidance). You can’t have the trust and belief in yourself to be in integrity when you play games with yourself.

We can’t say, for example, “Oh, now I’ll be in integrity, because I am a person who is honest, and because I am a deeply spiritual person,” and  then when a test like this comes along, try to look the other way and say, “Oh, no one will notice.”

No one will notice if I just slip up this one time, here. If I just take this one transgression.  Shhh, don’t tell anyone.

And as soon as this thing is over, and I “get away” with it, I’ll go back to being a deeply spiritual, living-in-integrity, honest, decent soul. It’s okay. I can step out of integrity when I pick and choose to do so, and then step back in when it suits me. And I can go on telling myself that there is a higher part of me, my Soul, that I want to trust and guide me, but I can ignore my conscience and what I know to be right and true.

Nope. It doesn’t work that way!

Who is Noticing?

You can’t hide from the Subconscious Mind. It’s always watching. It notices everything.

There’s a deeper, subtler, self-sabotaging message here that gets communicated to the subconscious mind, as well. That message is a belief in lack and scarcity.

“Money is scarce.”

“There isn’t enough for me.”

I want the peace of mind and bliss that comes from living my life in total harmony with the higher values and trusting my Inner Voice. I want to  trust that the Universe is out to support me in abundance and prosperity because it wants me to step up, play big and grab that golden ticket.

You know you can’t fool yourself—these fleeting thoughts—if they are there–are your demons—the parts of yourself you have to face.

If you want to be able to know with certainty that you can trust yourself, you have to be in integrity with yourself at all times. This includes keeping commitments you make to yourself. You can’t be two-faced. You have to know that you can rely on yourself, even in times of great temptation, because you are the one wanting a deep, unshakable faith.

If you want that faith, if you want to be able to rely upon it, you have to be in integrity and have utter, total honesty with yourself. And that means you cannot lie to yourself. You cannot have it both ways. You can’t have honesty and integrity one day, and a little larceny the next, a little transgression that you think no one will notice. Because the Subconscious Mind is always noticing.

It is always alert, always aware, always keeping score. Terrible, isn’t it? You can’t hide from it.

The Mosquito That Keeps You Honest

It’s an annoying mosquito, buzzing and whining around your ear. You want to slap it away, “Get out of here—go away, leave me alone, stop bothering me.”

You want to “forget” that you stepped out of integrity. The Subconscious Mind doesn’t forget. It never forgets. The conscious mind can do that—oh, yes, and it does that very well. But Subconscious Mind will not. It holds you accountable, always and forever.

And of course, you want to be able to look people in the eye. You want to be able to hug them and feel good about it, and about who you are. You cannot do that if you have that dirty little secret tucked away in the dark recesses of your mind.

So we have a choice. (We always have choices in this world, don’t we?) We can hide our heads in the sand, pretend we didn’t notice the transgression, the breach of integrity (“just this one time”), or we can own up, start living our lives as if everything matters. Move out of the smallness of our little ego selves that live in scarcity and lack, that cling to fear and doubt and uncertainty.

So here’s my challenge to you: Declare that from now on, you’ll step up into the You that wants and knows that there is a calling you are being summoned to (should you choose to accept it), and in order to meet that challenge, you must step up to the plate and be true to your higher Self’s values. Not for others; not for them. For YOU.

Got Your Back

So that you can break the bonds of scarcity thinking and lack, of poverty-consciousness, and embrace that the Universe really is looking out for you, got your back, wants you to be successful, abundant and powerful. That it wants you to be a Leader, wants you to be able to reach out and help others who are still on the Path behind you.

And you can only do it when you are truly in integrity with what you say to yourself, and others. The price is your self-esteem. The price is your self-confidence. It’s your ability to risk and live fully, to play full out with unshakable confidence.

The Testing Never Ends

The Universe will keep testing you. Your subconscious mind will keep watching, noticing how you play the game.

It doesn’t have to be hard. You tell yourself, “It’s hard,” and that becomes your story. You can let it go in an instant. You can tell yourself “It’s not that hard, it’s easy,” and embrace that and let that be your story.
